Zoey Alzate

As far as I can remember, I was never without a book in my hand or a journal in my pocket. Whether I stole precious moments to read or write short stories as I gazed out the window of a train or car, I have always had a passion for reading and creative writing. That journey led me to explore those interests at our school newspaper, with our community magazine, and even the Chicago Tribune as I recounted my participation as a poll worker/election judge in November 2024. Making a positive impact in our community, learning advocacy and embracing my own identity as a Jewish Latina has set me on a path tomorrow. That journey led me to a love of Greek Mythology and archeology, and to explore my journalistic interests at our school newspaper, with our community magazine, and even the Chicago Tribune as I recounted my participation as a election judge poll worker in November 2024.
